Modular Arcade Design

First things first. Let me explain how my design works. It is modular in design and is very affective. I can have up to 4 control panels, each with their own configuration of buttons and joysticks. The secret is to wire all the connectors the same. That way it does not matter which port you plug the controller in, it will always work. I can have just one control panel connected for single player or go up to 4 players for games that utilize it in MAME. The concept is simple, all the control panels connect to a central box that houses the Ultimarc IPac4. The central box also has a USB hub which links the IPAC to the computer and also any USB devices such as a track ball, spinner, etc. See attached picture of the central box.
Next up, parts list and such.

Mame Control Panels Finished

Here is a picture of the finished product. Stay tuned if you want to see how I did it.

Control Panel

Soon I will post all the details about my custom home made arcade control panel. Designed to work with Mame and related Arcade products. My design was different in that the control panel was not going to be mounted in an arcade cabinet. I live in an apartment still, so I did not have room for that. More to come soon.....
